My name is Rasmus Karl Åke Lindberg (b. 1991), I am a visual artist working primarily with acrylics and pastels. My practice is driven by a strong interest in symbolism and metaphor, and I often employ drawing, illustration, and various forms of printmaking as ways to explore how images can convey stories and emotions. I work with materiality, texture, and layers to create pieces where both the visible and underlying elements are given space to emerge.
Originally from Sweden, I studied Fine Arts at Novia University of Applied Sciences in Finland and spent an exchange year at Stiftung Universität Hildesheim in Germany. During the pandemic, I had the opportunity to exhibit my work in Germany, including two solo exhibitions—Bryophyta and Restricted Diaries—as well as the group exhibition The Art of Failure. In 2024, I was awarded an apprenticeship grant from the Swedish Cultural Foundation, which allowed me to further develop my practice under the mentorship of artists Jan Erik Andersson and Christoph Knitter.
Alongside my artistic work, I have gained broad experience in teaching, industrial labor, and even rock blasting—experiences that influence my visual language, methodology, and hands-on approach to working with surfaces and materials. Today, I continue to deepen my visual language through symbolism, metaphor, and illustrative elements, while exploring new techniques in painting, drawing, and printmaking.
